The seasons are very marked in this part of Spain . All are spectacularly beautiful in their own way. May and September can overlap into Summer, so be prepared.

Please don’t fear the heat. Although Sevilla can be one of the hottest places in Europe , at Trasierra there is always a breeze as we are 650m above sea level .

Spring (March April May)
Spring Festivals , Holy Week, Feria, El Rocio.
Walk , ride or picnic in the hilly olive groves where the grass is clotted with wild flowers. Poppies, wild iris and lavender – a botanist’s dream
Summer (June July August and part of September)
Pool Life , Family Parties, Time to have fun
Swimming, Sunbathing and long lazy lunches and siestas in the shade.
Romantic dining in the garden under the stars. Late night flamenco
Autumn (September, October, November)
Cosy Time. Take time for Tapas. Country pursuits.
Long walks in crystal clear air, mushroom gathering in woods ablaze with colours of changing leaves. Tea and toast by roaring fires on stormy days, Time to curl up with a book or watch a movie on our big screen. Picnic lunches in the sun.
We are open for Christmas and New Year, but officially closed in January and February unless you can make up a group, a party or are up for disguising and dancing at the truly mad local Carnaval at Mardi Gras. Otherwise we open occasionally for keen travellers prepared to take pot luck or B and B.

The Swimming Pool (unheated) is open from May lst to mid October.

Autumn and Spring can either be very warm or very wet! So always check weather forecast. Sunhats and Umbrellas are provided.

Riding, Tennis, Walking, Yoga, Painting, Massage, Flowers and Birdwatching, Sightseeing, Reading , Snoozing and, hopefully, good conversation. Shooting can be arranged through George in October, November and December.

Staying in touch
Although our idea is for you to leave your office behind, there is wireless internet in some places and you can connect with the outside world by mobile phone; although we prefer you to restrict its use to your room or outside in the hills.

If you run out of ideas, you can always raid the Trasierra Dressing up Box.  It is open all year round.
